We were given the Relay to try for 3 months. My daughter is a fresh 6 year old and has really been enjoying it. Her favorite feature is the daily joke generator. She has even memorized some of the jokes and loves testing them out on an unsuspecting audience. 😂 We have brought the Relay with us to the boardwalk, the Delaware State Fair, the park, the store, and everywhere! It has come in so handy and really helps to ease my mind. Especially in large crowds! Any time my child is not within my line of vision, I get a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that slowly moves up to my throat. Anxiety to the max! When she is wearing her Relay, I don’t have to feel that way. I can simply say “you still there?” And she can instantly respond.
My little girl has been having a blast being more independent outside. Playing in the backyard, exploring the woods, riding her bike, and even visiting a neighbor. All with her Relay on. It gives her more confidence knowing her mom is right there with her on the other end of the Relay.
Relay is #theperfectway to send my daughter back to school. I plan to sew a hook inside of her backpack to loop it on to. I told her she’s not allowed to use it while at school (except for emergencies) and not to show it to her friends. I will be able to talk to her after school and let her know I’m on my way. I can tell her where to wait for me and if I’d like her to go to the pick up line or be a walker. I will also be able to check on her location throughout the day to make sure she’s still safe at school. Especially on field trip days! This will be such a relief, I just know it!
Everyone in our family now has the Relay app on their phone. Even if you don’t have the actual device you can communicate with the Relay using the app. My daughter can now send messages to her Grandma and her Daddy whenever she wants. If they are available, they can talk right back or it will be saved as a message for listening to later. Also, if my daughter ever feels like she’s in trouble or unsafe all she has to do is hit the button 5 times and everyone that’s connected to her Relay will receive an SOS alert.
